"You came to it?"
It seems that you can not do more if asked by your parents about your election fashion even years after you move out. We have all heard our parents revealed that "back in the day," most people do not has run without at least a button-up shirt, sometimes a tie, if not a better coat. A t-shirt was long considered internal, and wander around town in just a t-shirt was the modern equivalent of wandering around a public place in just a pair the boxers.
He was not really far from the mark. Americans were first recognized in t-shirts, while they were fighting in Europe during the two world wars. Military men preferred-crew neck cotton t-shirts to woolen underwear which are standard issue at that time.
Shortly thereafter, however, T-shirts became a symbol of rebellion.
Marlon Brando wore one to physical point in his "A Streetcar named Desire." James Dean gave a show off his indifference to the "rebel without a cause. "T-shirt sales skyrocketed following those movies. Some years later, countless hippies and activists became rebels and the causes blouses used to display banners and political interests.
At the same time, formal wear was evolving as well. Many corporations calm their dress codes during the crisis power in 70, they can blast their air conditioners so that their employees are suffering in shirts, ties and coats. dress code was relaxed a little (button-up shirt and slacks), so that employees can be more productive.
During the 80th and 90th, an interesting change has occurred. T-shirts were still the case and dress shirts were, for the most part, formal, but more and more t-shirts served as marketing for formal wear. Calvin Klein and Armani Exchange are the most famous examples, but they were joined gap quickly and Abercrombie & Fitch, among many others. A person wearing a t-shirt CK seemed to say, "I'm dressed casually in t-shirt free now, but I can not afford its counterpart expensive." I always thought of as driving a Honda with a bumper sticker that said, "My other car is a BMW."
Several years ago, T-shirts made the jump in more formal settings.
They began to appear more and more clubs, restaurants and places other would consider "going out. "Starting with a simple t-shirts and ribbed v-neck in late 1990 to now, high end, designer t-shirts emblazoned with "Obey," "Affliction" and "Ed Hardy" are not an uncommon sight.
On years, T-shirt has evolved from a symbol of rebellion in an article of clothing acceptable for some of the more formal settings. Where you will once you get looked down upon for wearing a shirt in public is now more common to see T-shirts eat that formal wear.
