How did early radio shows such as the Green Hornet, Burns & Allen, and Dragnet impact american culture?

How did these shows reflect on what was going on in American society at the time and how did they impact American culture?

They created a national culture for Americans, something the country had never had. Families everywhere woould gather to hear how the Green Hornet and his faithful Japanese companion Kato (who became Philipino overnight on December 7, 1941) fought big city crime (incidentally, the Green Hornet was the Lone Ranger's grand nephew). Burns and Allen gave the country a common thread of laughter. Dragnet fought crime in a slightly more realistic mode, reflecting concerns about the growth of criminal organizations growing out of the Prohibition era.
All three reflected the shift of America to an urban society.
