From episode 4: A new hope, though Darth Vader take orders from Grand Moffat Tarkin? That Vader is so powerful and all, he should lead the entire mission. pls explain. thanks
In episode 4 Darth Vader, though powerful, is a civilian to a military installation, so you need to think in terms of its military marine. In any ship, admiral, (in this case Tarkin) has full control of his ship, and therefore can place orders for anyone. Civilians (Vader) are subject to those rules as well, regardless of their status. In other parts of the film, he is Tarkin that provides for fire death star, signs intended for Leia to be "finished" and is also one that is Asked if the Death Star should be evacuated, not Vader. As films progress, however, broader powers have emerged as the Emperor and Vader begin to control everything. The Empire Strikes Back, we see Vader in command of a destroyer and is the Star gives the order to land troops on Hoth. The Return of the Jedi, it is the emperor who gives orders from devastating Super Star.
